On the SchoolMint legacy platform, SchoolFinder admins have access to Google Analytics, allowing them to track user behavior and make informed decisions. The platform provides real-time reports on user activity, acquisition, engagement, and retention, as well as top pages visited. Events track user interactions, frequently searched addresses and schools, and programs and services families click on in Guided Search.
As part of the legacy SchoolMint SchoolFinder, admins have access to Google Analytics, which gives them the ability to track how users behave on their Finder. Google Analytics provides user-friendly visualizations that make it easy to understand the data. Our goals are to provide our customers with key insights into the specific demographics of their users and empower them with data to make informed decisions. The SchoolFinder team provides training for admins on how to use Google Analytics.
- Note: The new SchoolFinder product that leverages the Enroll system does not support Google Analytics.
Within Google Analytics, real-time reports allow admins to monitor user activity as it happens on their SchoolFinder. These reports show how many people are on the site at the present moment, which cities they come from, and what content they're looking at.
Google Analytics also provides data on user acquisition, engagement, and retention. Admins can view this information for different time ranges. For example, they can see how many users have accessed SchoolFinder in the past month, and what percent are new versus returning visitors. Admins can see the top sites that direct users to SchoolFinder, which helps inform where to spend advertising dollars. To get a sense of how engaged users are, admins can see the average number of sessions per user, average number of pageviews per session, and average session duration. A session is a group of interactions that a user takes on a website within a given time frame.
Admins can use Google Analytics to see the top pages that users visit on their SchoolFinder. For example, they may be interested in knowing what are the top visited profiles.
We are excited to announce that we set up Events to track more specifically how users interact with the SchoolFinder. Customers need a reporting tool that tells them where families are coming from, so we track the most frequently searched addresses and schools. This is useful to make the point about equity and the “digital divide.” We also track which programs and services families click on in Guided Search. Districts are measured by how many and what types of choice programs are available. It’s valuable to know which programs families consider important in a school so district-level admins can create more of those programs and place them strategically throughout the district. We provide data on which profiles families Compare and Save to Favorites, the languages into which they translate SchoolFinder, and the links they click on in the navigation bar.
The SchoolFinder team is excited to work with our customers to ensure they have access to the data they need to make the best decisions for their schools and community.
