There are 2 steps to setting up printing using a Dymo 450
- Download and Install or Update the Dymo Printer on the PC. The current version is 8.7.3
- Set the Printer Preferences to match those of the Temp ID Badge Labels Stock Size.
STEP 1 - Installation
The DYMO printer requires special printing drivers in order to print.
Download the software from Dymo's Website or the direct download link is http://www.dymo.com/en-US/dymo-label-software-v873-windows#
Open the downloaded software, and follow the DYMO Setup Wizard to install the software. The Drivers should be installed prior to Powering Up or Connecting the Printer to the Desktop
Connect your DYMO label Printer directly to your computer via the USB cable provided.
Load your labels into your printer. The configurations that we will utilize in the Printer Preferences are for Hero Labels that are 3.75 x 2.25 Inches.
- Tap the Blue Paper Feed button to calibrate the paper for use with Hero's Printer Labels.
STEP 2 - Configuration
Setting the print preferences in Windows
Open the Start menu and and navigate to the Control Panel.
Locate the Devices and Printers icon and open this.
Right click on the DYMO 450 printer and select Printer Properties.
In the Printer Properties window, click Printing Preferences at and then Advanced
This will open a window that allows you to set the Paper Stock Size to match the Temp Student ID which is 99014 (Shipping Label/Name Badge Label)
- The final step in configuring the printer requires that we change a few default values to benefit any Hero School that provides student images to Hero. Click on the Graphic/Print Quality Link form the drop down change the default settings from 300 x 300 dots per inch to 300 x 600 dots per inch. This may give you a temporary caution icon. The icon will disappear after configuring Printer Features/Print Quality from Text Only to Barcode and Graphics to optimize your Student Temp ID print jobs. Select OK and then APPLY and then exit the Control Panel.
