With the new ESSA legislation, the importance of nurturing the non-academic factors that impact students’ academic performance is more important than ever before. Schools are attempting to create environments that are safe with consistent positive climates, and school-wide discipline and classroom management programs that are an inherent part of the overall academic program. The ongoing concern is that many schools are not seeing the expected positive impacts from these discipline “programs” because they have not been independently validated and they do not deliver the science to practice elements that lead to improvements. Even if the strategies are sound, schools struggle with the fidelity of implementation. In this webinar, we will clearly articulate the evidence-based practices that result in improved school climate, student behavior and equity and show you proven ways to increase fidelity.

Speaker Bio:
Dr. Balow has a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from Arizona State. Dr. Balow is currently the Chief Academic Officer at SchoolMint where he serves to support business and product devl. efforts of their school climate and behavior management solution. Dr. Balow was an educator serving in various roles for over 30 years and focused on mental health, behavioral and emotional intervention, assessment, MTSS and literacy interventions. Dr. Balow has presented on many national webinars and at educational conferences over the past 10 years.
