Voice Calling is a SchoolMint premium feature that allows you to send families an automated or ad hoc voice call with any email/text message. Inserting a voice message into any SchoolMint Communications is possible in the same ways you can send an email and/or text message to a group of students or individuals. Please note that voice messages only get sent to the mobile number in the account.

Where can I add a Voice Call?
There are many locations where one can send a voice message along with an email and/or text message:
- Application Index
- Bulk Action
- Student Profile
- Reports
- Unconfirmed Addresses report
- Duplicate Applications report
- Interested Families > Family Report
- Communications
- Send Message
- Admissions
- Accounts without an Application
- Draft Applications
- RSVP Tracker
- Validate Priorities
- Manage Registrations
- Manage Re-enrollments
- Manage Packets
You have the option to enter the text of the voice message or you can upload your own voice message. Note: the phone number/caller ID families see when receiving their voice message cannot be altered.
Once enabled, you will see an additional step within the communications page:
Types of Voice Calling:
You can send two types of voice messages:
1. You can enter text, which will be converted to automated speech.
To do so, click on the "Enter Text" tab in Step 4. Enter the message and click "Send"
2. You can upload a recorded .wav file. Note: this is a multi-step process.
- First, record your message here (free recording service with Vocaroo) to generate a .mp3 file.
- Next, your .mp3 file must be converted to a .wav file. Use the free converter service here to convert your .mp3 file to the required .wav file.
- Finally, click on "Upload File" to attach the .wav file, and click "Send"
From what phone number do families receive SchoolMint voice messages?
Families will receive a call from (818) 287-8956. The best way to ensure families answer this call is to have them add the phone number above as a contact.
What are the current limitations of this feature?
- Voice calls do not leave a voicemail message and do not make a second attempt to call if the first attempt is unsuccessful.
- Voice messages only get sent to the mobile number in the account.
- Families who have selected Email Only as their contact preference will not receive a voice call, but families who prefer Text Only or Text & Email as their contact method will receive voice calls.
