Please note this feature is only available to customers using a direct integration (SIS vendors: Aeries, Chalkable, PowerSchool, Software Answers).
SchoolMint offers the option for admins, who are syncing multiple records to their SIS, to run the sync in the background. Choosing this option allows the admin to navigate away from the page to other parts of the SchoolMint platform, or better yet --shut down the computer and let SchoolMint handle the syncing. By selecting this option, admins will no longer be required to stay on the screen until the sync is complete.
To use this feature, please go thru a 6-step process to select records, check for any duplicates and errors, and confirm your sync. Upon reaching Step 6 and clicking the "Sync to SIS" button, a modal will appear with the option to sync your records in the background. This option is only available when selecting 10 or more student records for syncing.
As an admin, you will always have the option to choose whether to run the sync in the background. When selecting 25 or more records, we recommend selecting this option by selecting "Yes" in the modal.
If selecting fewer than 10 records, or if syncing student records from the Registration or Re-enrollment Checklists, this option will not be available:
Once the background sync option has been selecting, the following loading screen will appear. Please do not navigate away from this page as it is required as part of the sync preparation:
Once the background syncing begins, SchoolMint will automatically navigate to the Sync Log page. From this point on, you may navigate away from SchoolMint. An email will be sent when the sync is complete.
Please note you will not be able to "Rename Sync" until the sync is complete. You may, however, click on the "View Details" button to see which students have synced over successfully, have failed, or are still in progress. The page does not update in real-time, but you may refresh the page to see the most recent updates.
Should you wish to start a new sync while the current one is in progress, simply return to the Sync to SIS page and select the student records. Should you select a student record that is part of a previous sync still in progress, you will be notified that the student record cannot be synced until the previous one is complete.
