Activating Parent Accounts
Method 1 - Simple Authentication
Parents will create an account on the Hero web by using the student's last name, ID #, and date of birth.
REQUIRED: Please make sure that your school has turned on this setting to allow Simple Authentication in the setup wheel icon > Key Management > Simple Authentication.
REQUIRED: Please make sure that your school is receiving the date of birth field for each student in the student lookup feature.

Method 2 - Unique Key
Parents will create an account on the Hero web by using a pre-generated unique key that was previously distributed to the parent.
REQUIRED: Please make sure that your school has assigned a unique key to each parent in the setup wheel > Key Management > Batch Create Keys.

Hero is in the process of updating all apps (users, students, and parents.) Users and students have already been upgraded to the new app services. Our product team is working to update parents to be on the new app services as well. We will let you know when these services are available for parents. In the meantime, parents will need to continue using the original Hero app - "Hero k12 Students" in the app store. |
